(London, UK) – Underworld will perform at this year’s Glade Festival, they’ve announced… and only there. This will be their only UK festival gig this year, so whether you’ve been a fan since dubnobasswithmyheadman back in ’93, or you got into then via their recent The Bells The Bells remix collection, you’d better book some tickets for the new, improved Glade.
The Glade Festival takes place from Thursday 16th July – Sunday 19th July at its new secret location and it’s looking to be quite a year for the organisation. They started off as the dance stage at Glasto, but they’ve had their own festival since the halcyon days of 2003. And until this year, it was always at the same Berkshire site… which was a great place, but it kind of made a mockery of the ‘secret’ location details every year, a fact that the local thieving chavs no doubt enjoyed immensely. However for 2009 there’s a new site planned, ‘somewhere near Winchester’, which will allow the parties to go longer into the night (3am is no time for a dance festival to stop the music), and to let more acts perform during the event.
But where will the new site be? Well, our money is on the old Matterley Bowl – remember Homelands, anyone? But rumours and theories aside, we’ve got more definite news for you: the guys from the mighty Bloc techno event are programming the Vapor Stage! So if you’re feeling Bloc’s immense underground vibes (their own event is one of the best line-ups we’ve ever seen), you’re sure to enjoy whatever they have to offer. More news when we get it people…
