Xaric – Sunset EP (featuring remixes by Matias Larrosa, Guido Sava, Camiel Daamen)
Xaric is a French DJ/producer who’s made big strides in 2008. He opens his account for 09 with the “Sunset EP” on French prog imprint Atlant Digital. 4 mixes are on show here, the original, Matias Larrosa remix, Guido Sava remix and the Camiel Daamen remix.
Naturally first, we have the Sunset original mix, a dreamy downtempo number with rising percussion. A pretty melody bubbles in the background of this interesting production.
The Matias Larrosa remix contains some light 4/4 drums and floating strings. A nice sounding mix, but nothing standout.
The Guido Sava remix is dreamy in a similar way to the original. However, the melodies and strings are slightly higher in the mix in this version. A mix for the beach or a chillout set perhaps, similar to the other 2 mixes.
Wrapping things up is the Camiel Daamen remix, which is in a similar vein to the other 3 mixes, and could be described as a light soothing ambient house hybrid.
This is a solid release for Atlant Digital, but missing a harder progressive mix which might be accessed for peak time club and radio play.
Sunset is a tune from the AtlantDigital’s owner, allready released on a digital compilation made by VOTU PRODUCTION.
